We at ZAP mowing have chosen to move away from fuel powered equipment, to either corded or cordless electric technology as much as possible. Whilst we do still currently have a petrol powered zero turn mower and large chainsaw, the majority of the work is completed with battery powered tools. A driving factor behind this decision was to reduce noise and disturbance to our customers, plus we don't have any exhaust emissions and odours to be concerned with. These factors are really appreciated in locations with lots of people, have poor ventilation or require less disruption, such as units, work places, holiday rentals or tight court yards etc.
We only use late model, top spec commercial equipment. Our tools must prove to be as good or better than comparable fuel powered equipment before it is put into service. These tools are not toys and are designed to do the hard yard. Each piece offers great performance and reliability.
We do not claim to be carbon neutral, but we aim to be environmentally responsible. We generate the bulk of our own electricity with solar panels mounted on our vehicle, charging a large vehicle mounted storage battery. We can top up this storage in off peak times from mains supplied power if required .
It has been proven that hand held power tools are exceptionally heavy polluters due to their lack of modern emission reducing features which all cars now must have fitted to be sold in Australia. We would rather generate as much power as we can by our solar, and top up any short fall with mains supplied power, which is many times cleaner than hand held power tools emissions.
We encourage anyone to compare the job done by our tools to petrol powered equipment. We guarantee our work is as good or better than a traditional service.
